Sonia Nicolson is a British Architect, artist, and educator living in Reykjavik, Iceland.
She helps students and entrepreneurs successfully design & build their careers and creative businesses in Interior Design, Architecture & Urban Sketching.
Her journey wasn’t conventional. Struggling in high school, Sonia pursued Interior Spatial Design at college before being accepted into University to study Architecture. She earned a scholarship for Academic Excellence and completed her postgraduate studies in Japan.
Sonia became a chartered Architect amid the 2008 recession and switched architecture for academia before becoming an entrepreneur.

From teaching Interior & Architectural Design as an Academic Director in India to leading 1st-year Interior Architecture in the UK, her passion has always been about sparking creativity and mentoring young designers. Sonia has worked internationally, including collaborations with the British Council and student recruitment for UK Universities in Thailand, Nepal, India and Iceland.

In 2016 Sonia moved to Iceland, where she embraced her love for art and architecture. She began documenting Reykjavik’s unique buildings, sharing her work on Instagram with the hashtag #ReykjavikSketcher
She launched a thriving creative business offering commissions, prints, and hand-drawn architectural art.
