Architecture Workshop: Build A Future City
Architecture Workshop: Build A Future City
This workshop looks at Urban Design, Architecture and Communication and aims to have participants design and build a large-scale model of their future city.
Urban Design
Participants work together in planning their ideas for the 'city' before deciding on its content and landscape.
Architecture
The future city can be as creative as the participants like with islands, towers, suspended components, etc. Participants have to communicate their design by creating a 3D using only recycled cardboard.
Communication
Each participant is allocated a square and must design in consideration of their neighbours. Once the models are complete, participants lay their squares down in order and give a short presentation on the thoughts behind their design and its contribution to the city.
When the models are all laid out, the future city is built and the participants can see what they’ve achieved together.
Workshop size: max 60 students (depending on the size of the group, we will either work individually or in small groups)
Workshop length: 8hrs
Please note: All workshops are best delivered in person, but can be carried out on Zoom
